Great news!
I own 13 acres off NC 212 that is 6.5 miles from Rocky Fork. Now we don't have to worry about another gated community going in right down the road.
It's a tough thing.. Unicoi Co. could stand to increase it's tax base to build schools and what not - guess I'm just one of those "Not in my back yard" people..

Rocky Fork is like the Garden of Eden in the southern Appalachians. Absolutely beautiful.
Where exactly is this 1.2 miles of the AT in Tennessee that is now on private land???

It's a few miles trail south of Sam's Gap at I-26. It's in the area between Devil Fork Gap and Big Butt. You can see Rocky Fork to the west when travelling north on I-26 north of Sam's Gap. Good pics here:
