I saw in the 2008 Appalachian Pages that Green Point, PA has some sort of convenience store. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to purchace for food there? Is it right on the trail? Do you think I can plan on getting a day or two worth of food there next July?
Really? I was just there maybe 5 weeks ago and saw nothing. You may mean Lickdale and you won't find much to choose from there. Someone likely can provide more detailed information.
Duncannon and Hamburg are better resupply locations.

The book says Green Point General Store with no coresponding distance. That should mean that it is right on the trail. My 2006 Thru-Hikers Handbook does not mention it. If there is a little store right on the trail I would like to take advantage of it.

25 years ago, when the trail ran along Pa. Rt. 443 through Greenpoint, there WAS a general store right on the trail. That store has been closed for years, and the trail has been re-located off of the road for several years now. There's really nothing in Greenpoint...sorry, but SOG is correct.
There's a campground store several miles east on Rt. 443, and a small ice cream shop several miles south on Rt. 72...a few miles further south on Rt. 72 is Lickdale, which has a campground store and a couple of fast food/gas&snack shops, but that's it in that area.
The book says Green Point General Store with no corresponding distance. That should mean that it is right on the trail.
I patronized a small store that fit your description in 1980 when I through hiked and placed a call from the phone booth there. It may have been called Green Point General Store.
When I drove by last month, I saw a few blazes on telephone poles, but couldn't determine where the store or phone booth were once located. No Kodachromes of it to help remind me or to digitize and post.:(
I've never found it in the many times I've been there. I hiked south to Lickdale that has several fast food & convenience stores, hotel.

SB is right on!!! B4 the Relo, heading NB before you get to the 443/72 Junction, the trail used to continue straight South(ish) to 443 and there used to be a small general store there of sorts. The relo takes you down the mountain and well around a field and over east to Rte 72. there isn't anything there for several miles and be careful of the small parking lot right on Rte 443. There used to be a vandalism problem there.
