I am SO sorry for your loss.

Will see what we have here but most of our kid stuff has gone over to the boy scout troop.

I have an Exped Wallcreeper PL (primaloft) wearable sleeping bag that I'll take $60 plus shipping for, it is a regular and will work for someone up to 5'9". Full center zip, parka hood, arm holes and drawstring bottom. Rated to 45 degrees. 2#3oz. Excellent hammock bag with the drawstring foot.

Hey Blissful
Thank you much for your thoughts and offer

For anyone interested I am working on the new HIKER BOUNCE BOX FOR KIDS GEAR THREAD that will be posted soon (just have to confirm a few things with the higher ups)
Basically ....for anyone who wants to donate their used gear thats sittin around to KIDS you can send it to THE BOX which I have right now and which I will send to whoever needs it next ,the person who recieves it next just needs to agree to send it on to the next one who needs it and so forth
THE BOX will be kept to a limited size (for keeping shipping costs around $20-30) with only enough stuff needed to gear up a couple 2-3 kids (of course this will depend on donations ) When THE BOX is Stocked and full GEAR DONATIONS WILL GO TO FRANKLIN NC Where RON HAVEN will have another GEAR BOX FOR KIDS and has agreed to see it goes to the Local Kids in need there
The THREAD I will be posting will be to keep track of THE BOX such as where it is in the future if you have stuff to send or to post a request to get the box sent to you .
The GEAR FOR KIDS will be for ANY KID (family or a friends kid...whatever) that wants to HIKE and needs GEAR to get out there .

This may go no where and anything could happen like thievery or whatever but Im pretty confident that most folks here are beyond stealing from kids and more into GEARING UP KIDS!
For now please send any USED GEAR DONATIONS TO

GEAR BOUNCE BOX FOR KIDS

If you don't really need the cash, consider donating it to the kids bounce box Fishin Fred is putting together. With Fishin' Fred & Ron Haven working on this, there will be a lot of kids benefiting.

I'll be putting a package together and sending it out this week. I figure the benefit to a kid that needs gear is a lot more than the few dollars I would get out of the gear if I sold it.

Fishinfred,

Watch your mail for a package. I mailed it today.

A bounce box is a good idea, but if you've got the extra storage space, it might be cost effective to keep the goods at your location, and keep a tread edited with items in the box, if someone needs something, they pay shipping and you mail it. it's a little more work for you, and it's up to you, but it's an idea.

Hi All
Just got a box yesterday from NJ .THANK YOU ! REALLY NICE ! Still waiting to see what all shows up .Thanks for EVERYTHING ! Once he(my Grandson) is good to go EVERYTHING else will go in the bounce box . I will start the MAIN thread once there is a box with sufficent supplies to send off to the next kid .(PM me or post here for now if you NEED GEAR FOR A KID and I will send the box to you once everything gets here )
Hey Bobby ...Better if folks send their stuff directly to the Box ,once the box is full people will send their extra Gear to Ronnie in Franklin (reason for the Permanent thread - Where to send Donation Gear the 'BOX OR RON' ? and who to request the box from ) because once I send the Box off it will be up to the next person to keep it going .....and cause I plan on getting in alot of Hiking this year ! :D
HOPEFULLY in the next week or so I'll be able to start the thread and I will explain more then
If it works out right it should pretty much go on its own.....I'm hoping?
I haven't had any time to put into this lately but will be calling on some Outfitter friends as soon as I get a chance.By the way A BIG THANKS TO YEOLDBACKPACKER who has already made an offer to send some stuff.
THANK YOU ALL! I REALLY CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH ....ITS NICE TO KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE!

I'm glad it helped brighten your grandson's Christmas & I hope he enjoys it on the trail.

Here's a bump for the kids - for those who got shiny new gear for Christmas, think about passing on some of your old stuff to help other kids get to experience the wonder of being immersed in the great outdoors.

I have a camp trails external frame pack that may be suitable for him. This pack is old (used it in scouts and on a couple trips), but it is in good shape. If you would like info or pics be happy to help out. Osprey makes some nice kids packs adjustable suspension. I bought my son a Jib 35. Another good site is upsideover.com they sell only kids gear.
