Worth a 700 foot descent in the PM and a 700 foot ascent in the AM? Well, heck, it's merely a rhetorical question at this point, for me. I remember sitting at that trail junction trying to decide. The proprietors sounded very friendly on the phone.

Lois and Earl run a great, hiker-friendly business. There's a small grocery in town, too. They even serve a free hiker lunch at noon.
