Got myself durn hot spot on my left heel yesterday after work. I knew better but had to chose beween stiff, new TNF foretex shoes and Birkenstocks. North Face almost blistered me.

When Nessmuk and I discussed this this a.m. he gave me a piece of Compeed Blister Pack (cover?). They used it in the Bridge Program he worked with. They took graduating juvenile criminals out into the mountains, usually on the AT for a two week "final exam". This proram has been closed for years, adn Nessmuk held on to the product all this time.

Anyway, I used the Compeed this a.m. and am a complete convert! This stuff is terrific! It adheres to the skin over the hot spot, and presto-changeo, I had no idea I had a sore heel. It is terrific stuff! I almost never have a blister, but we are preparing for a 9 day after Christmas hiking trip. My feet have to be in great shape!

It seems to be widely availabe in Europe. Does anyone use this product and have a regular US supplier?

Thanks,

Frau

You can buy it almost anywhere.... Walmart, Krogers, most drug stores. It's the only kind of bandaid that I carry.

Thanks HH,

Nessmuk wondered if it was available at a megastore. You saved us a trip. Thanks you.

PS,
Do you use the Band-Aid product containing Compeed or Compeed itself? I saw the Band-Aid product offered on the internet.

I believe it's made by Band-aid. It's in a silver box. I thought I had a box around here but I can't find it.

I found the box...the box is silver and green on the front. Says Advanced healing for Blisters, Fingers and Toes. Had to look hard on the side of the box to see the word Compeed. It comes in different sizes.

What I have is brand named Compeed. When I do a search, I get mostly foreign URLs. I will check out the Band Aid product and see if it is similar to the thing I have stuck to my heel now. The instructions say to leave it on until it loosens itself.

I am learning...

Yep,

In the US, Band Aid is your brand name. Don't even have to leave the house:

Hm. Interesting. I will check this out next trip to Wally World. From the packaging it does look like a simlar project. Nessmuk has a few of the original left. I hope I can be good and NOT get any more hotspots anytime soon.
