Hi All
I could use some suggestion on sleeping bag and tent for a 6'5" tall person. I have found many reviews on gear for normal size people but not much for oversize people. I will be leaving Springer MT. in mid Feb.
Thanks

Overload, two suggestions: 1. Get your sleeping bag in the "long" size, this usually fits to about 6'6' and 2.set up a tent you might be interested in buying whlie your in the store and then lay down in it to see if it fits you. REI is a good store to start with, if one is in your area. Good luck.

Overload, take a look at the Big Agnes bags and pads. It's what I use and find them to be roomier and less confining than other bags. I had a Feathered Friend bag but figured out that I could own 2 Big Ags for the same money. I sold it and I'm now packing a 0* Yellow Wall for winter and an SL 40* Yampa for my 3 season bag. My FF bag was a 15* bag and was not warm enough for winter and a whole bunch of extra weight to carry for summer. I custom cut a cheap blue pad to fit the Yellow Wall and then put a 3/8ths ensolite pad over it for a total of 15 oz. Used it on a recent shake down trip for my 4 season TarpTent and was toasty @ two nights of 5 and 7* weather.

As far as tents, I'm a TarpTent by Henry Shires fanatic. Lots of great options for the "more abundant" hiker. I've also seen the Big Ag Seedhouse1 SL quite a bit but have never used one. Gets great reviews as does the Hubba.

Best wishes for your hike and Savor Happy!
