I wish viewcam sites showed a bird's-eye view map, showing the location and direction of the cam. Rain:sunMan . http://maps.google.com/ About 15 miles north of Medway on I95 is a turnout/scenic pullout or rest area type thing. This cam should be right around there. Looking pretty much due West. Pop on the satellite function on the Google map. Guess it won't paste for me. Medway, ME This is all off the top of my noggin. Egads 01-04-2009, 18:15 Shoulda posted a screen shot. All dark now. weary 01-04-2009, 18:33 Shoulda posted a screen shot. All dark now. Watch the weather forecasts. The post comes on from north of Baxter Park every 30 minutes. It's one of my favorite sites, especially when I feel depressed. This is the mountain and surrounding landscape that one man spent a lifetime putting together in an attempt to preserve a piece of wildness for all time "for the people of Maine." Whether his dream will be realized is still an open question It's his dream, however, that inspired me to help protect the summit ridge of Abraham in the High Peaks region of Maine. It's why I've spent much of my life since retiring 18 years ago to protecting wild places in the town where I live, and more recently to founding and promoting the Maine Appalalachian Trail Land Trust. Our current effort is to protect many thousands of acres in the "High Peaks" of Maine though the federal "forest legacy" program. We need an estimated million bucks as our share of a $12 million project. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Mention Weary in any gifts you may make, so I can thank you personally.
