I've been here before and wasn't crazy about it... in fact I was sort of bored by it.

That being said, I was thinking about heading out there on Sunday because it is going to be 60* and I want to give the dogs a good workout.

When I was last there there was this nice detailed map in the parking lot. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of this map?

I was thinking about heading up the Dutchman's Creek Trail until it intersects with the Uwharrie Trail and heading back to the parking lot on that... I think its like 10-12 miles...

If you give me an email address, I can send you a map. The map comes from Nat. Geo software and then I carefully plotted the trail from Don Childrey's Uwharrie Lakes Region Trail Guide book. Or you could just buy his book - there aren't any topos in it but it makes it easy to plan your route.

There is a very rough map on Uwharries pages of NC National Forest website.

http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/recreation/uwharrie/uwharrie_national_recreational_trail_map.htm

But I can't make heads or tails of it. The plotting is very obscured.

Let me know how the trip goes, I might be moving out that way and would like to now what the trails in Uwharrie are like.
