What size in Ruff wear do you need? I have two new sets, need to check the sizes. One blue set, one red set.

Medium would be ideal. Large could work. Can I ask what model they are, and how much possibly? Thanks!

Indeed, I had thought of that. Figured I'd see if I could get some for cheap though, little more convenient and probably more functional. Thanks for the tip though!

I can understand booties. Ice in the paws .... Just please tell me that's as far as you go with the doggie clothing. I never understood why someone would humiliate their dog by dressing him/her in doggie sweaters and hats.

I'll respond to this from the musher's viewpoint: ice and hard, crusty snow can really cut up a dog's pads...and some of the rocks on the trail aren't much better. Besides, it's fun to watch a dog try to walk without putting his feet down on the ground!:D ("Hey, these things feel funny!)

As for me, I used to have my Husky wear a raincoat on the trail - because he used to LOVE to dry off by rolling on my nice, dry sleeping bag!

Yeah he definitely needs the booties. Anytime we go out and there's ice on top of the snow, he comes back with bloody paws. Not that he minds, he's still going 100mph but I figure I'll save him some trouble. And I'm not all one for jackets and crap on dogs either, but he needs that too. He's short hair (American Bulldog) and he'll be standing outside eating snow and shivering. haha I made him one out of an old fleece jacket I had lying around and I'm thinking about a nylon shell I could make for rain.

I talk to a girl in alaska who is a dog musher. I asked her the exact question. Dogs feet dont become callous like humans! As your friendly K-9 racks up the miles they can actually wear the pads of there feet down. It also prevents from things geting caught between their toes and cracking the webbing from harsh trail conditions. It has nothing to do with how well trained or how many miles your dog does. Their feet need protecting like ours do.
