You know, I am new at backpacking, and really like this forum.

However, for someone to randomly accuse me of something I so obviously am not doing is rather disturbing.

This forum is for people looking to buy gear.
I have always been a book reader as my preferred way of learning.

I simply put a request up to buy some used books, and I am slandered by someone who does not know what they are talking about.

I own a domain that is a "catchall" address.

What that means is that I can use different names to help me quickly detect what each incoming email is about...

for example "books@", or ""fishing@" or "whatever@" coolaromas.com.

That way I do not pay for a zillion email addresses, just one domain.

Even after explaining myself, SHEEPDOG states above that the reason for his belief is..."Not many posts..."

I certainly hope not all newbies are treated this way, and that not all veterans are this ridiculous.

He goes on to say that I made a "...sales pitch."

Actually I made a "BUY" pitch in a buying forum.

Sheepdog, come on, man, what is it...midlife crisis, having a bad hair day, just nothing better to do?

I reiterate that I am simply looking to buy books on the subject of hiking, backpacking, camping, if anyone would be so inclined.:confused:

What topics did you have in mind? I've got books on lots of things: cooking on the trail, different local hikes, different local backpacking overnights, backpacking in general, ultralight backpacking, etc.

Plus I've got quite the fiction collection.

Not camped or backpacked since my boy-scout days 30 years ago.

Any beginners or how to guides more designed to gear choice and comparison, backpacking basics, any Karen Berger, and AT books.
