View Full Version : 2010 Thru- hike partner wanted
I am seriously considering finally going on a thru hike, I have thought about this for a very long time, and while there is not enough time to start this year, I am thinking of starting next Mar.
I would like to find someone in the NH, area, or close by, so that we could maybe go on a few hikes, get used to each other, see if it would be a good fit. I am open to anybody, but I would prefer to hike with a female, seems there is less EGO, lol well if your in the area, drop me a line, we can talk about it.:welcome
I'm retiring in Jan 2010 and have done about 200 miles of AT off and on. Would like to try to see how much I could do in a full season. Not into Ego trips and prefer to smell the flowers along the way.
Slow and steady is my motto.

I have had to reschedule my thru hike for 2010. I live in Manchester and plan to hike the 4000 footers this year as part of prep for the AT. I will also do a 5 day shakedown as I have picked up some new equipment and want to become familiar with it.
I'm a 55 year old man and ego is not an issue.

I'm planning a NoBo hike with a friend for March 2010. We are both female and live in the Boston area. We will be 18 and 19 next March. Furthermore, I have a house in Woodstock Vermont, so it would be very feasible for us to meet up for day/weekend hikes (or longer) to see if we would be a good match. I am planning a 2010 NOBO thru and would love to meet up with some people to share the experience. I've never really done much hiking, mostly camping while rock climbing or caving but plan to do some hikes for prep. Unfortunately I live in Cincinnati and don't drive so getting to any good hikes is going to be a challenge. Oh well, that's what i'm looking for.

Is there a more official and perhaps more structured, classifieds-like place to find thru-hiking partners on this site or any other? I am Nobo in March 2010. 26/Male. Georgia. I try to have a great sense of humor. Ha... it sounds like I'm looking for a date. I'd like to plan some overnight hikes in September and October 09 in North GA. i think i also am considering doing a thru hike March 2010, Wow, last year it was cycling tour in VA, don't know what it will be in 2012. But I am having fun gearing up. Reading lots of trail journals, great stuff.
I am 48 going on 24, by 2010 will 49 going on yep still 24. Want to enjoy the time on the AT not speed thru but keep a good pace.
The drawback is I live in the midwest, IN
