Im a college student who is just getting into backpacking and I'm looking for a nice tent. As of right now I have a Coleman Hooligan but I've been told that its WAY too heavy... Tuition these days is atrocious so I am on a very tight budget. If any one has anything that would be relitivly inexpencive (no more than $100) please PM me.

Thanks alot!

I have a (an?) Eureka Solitaire you can have. It's probably only been slept in six nights. I switch to a tarp and now a hammock and I'm sure I'll never again use it. It's kinda cramped and lots of people complain about the precip, but it worked for me until I could afford better.

I'm leaving for a week long trip tomorrow so if you let me know before then I'll for sure hold it for you but I won't be able to get to the post office until March 16th at the earliest.

I'd offer to sell you my Ozark Trail Children's Tent for $15, but you can buy a brand new one for the same price at Wal-Mart. 2.5 lbs. Seam seal it and you are good to go.

Also, I saw a thread in Used Gear for a Hubba if you want something a bit more "brand name".

I would suggest a tent that could meet your needs well: Kelty Grand Mesa 2, its a two man tent for about $110.00 at campmor. Check it out, I really like this tent, its a two walled tent and enough room for you and some left over. The tent also sets up quickly.

.
I also have a Eureka Solitaire that I was going to offer up for sale but sounds like gardenhead is offering a better deal.:) It's a good tent and if it's the same as mine has a full length screen roof with full length pull-over fly so you can have a great view of the stars at night.
I'd take gardenhead up on the offer.

I think I saw a post on here that showed the Eureka Solitaire on closeout at the Eureka Tents online outlet. Not to rain on the parade of you guys selling yours, but he is a poor college student.

He's already been offered a free one, they don't get less expensive than that. . .;)

Check the Texsport bivy tent for $30. Pack weight is less than 3 lbs.

No the same recognition as some others, but mine has worked perfectly for 3 years.
