i know it says to not use a wind screen with the MSR PR because the tank could explode but what if you made one that was open near the bottom to let heat escape from around the tank? this is only to be used to block the wind not for increased heat...

yeah it works. most people figure that out. Al foil, pie tins, etc. work real well.

Made one once for my Coleman F1 ultralight. It works fine.

A ie tin from one of the little mini individual pies works really good, I just cut a slit in it and slide it on above the valve.
