WTB: Svea old style external cleaning needle. Anyone have a spare to sell or know of a supplier who might have one in stock? Thanks!

If you can't find one, try a welding shop. They should have one for clearing welding torches that would be a similar size.
comes as a set with about ten sizes googled (torch tip cleaner) 3.81 true value hardware

Just find a tiny drill bit that'll fit in the hole. You could epoxy a little handle on the end so it doesn't get lost.

Thanks for the hints. NEVER would have thought of a welding accessory.

A welding shop might have one laying around from an old set. Probably glad to get rid of it.

I use a very thin piece of wire, or else a stray down quill from my sleeping bag. I don't need it often.
Try using the wire from the inside of a twist-tie. It works on my windshield washers.

Way too thick, I'm afraid. Try the thinnest wire they have at Radio Shack. I don't remember the gauge.

Give them a call, they will fix you up. I think you get a pack of 3 for 5 or 6 bucks. I would use the correct tool. I tried the welding tip cleaners, they enlarged the jet hole. Not sure if they are abrasive or because it was the wrong size.

Try going to a site that sells caving gear. The tip cleaners for carbide lamps work well. If it is almost completely clogged you can use a carbide tip reamer.
Here is a good site where I have bought gear in the past. http://www.4bobandbob.com/

DOUBLE DITTO ON? A & H!!! They helped me about 15 years ago to retrofit a pressure pump onto my old Pheonix Backpacker Stove. I still keep their name in my contacts.
