Perhaps Lone Wolf's recent trials have got me overly concerned about my favorite internet strangers, but what the hell happened to Jack Tarlin? Is he lying in a ditch somewhere? Did he get arrested? Did someone insult his cooking and he just totally lost it? He's one of the most voluminous contributors to these forums, but has not uttered a peep in over a week. I'm starting to really miss he and LW playfully sniping at each other.

A vagrant dressed in black with duct taped knees was reported to be lurking in, and around, Franklin, NC. This could be him. :p

I believe his plan is to hang out with Miss Janet for a while then head south and visit Damascus for a while then head to Springer to hike north!

I just joined up here at WB at the tail end of the last "hiking season" and it never occurred to me that the regulars here might, you know, go for a hike. Hope he's having a blast. I'm a green novice hiker green with envy.

jack does the party hike, some white, some yellow, never misses a feed

you can stay in shelters and use trek poles....and maybe in your condition you should actually treat your water...just saying:-?

Always good to hear from friends....... :D

Jack's fine, he's in North Carolina, and as soon as the weather clears, he will indeed be posing as a hiker somewhere, and with any luck, walking like one, too.

Shoulda' stayed at home - 55 degrees and not a cloud in the sky up here today. The snow's a-meltin'. Guess I'll see ya' when you get to the Dirt Cowboy. Safe travels 'til then...

Don't expect to find Jack in a shelter. He abhorrs shelters. And the privys have spiders that come up and bite yer behind.

All hikers get voluminous in the off season. It's not particularly nice to point it out though.
