View Full Version : SOBO Harper's Ferry to Springer May 2010
Like a lot of people here, the hiking bug is in my brain and I can't seem to get it out. I'd love to do a thru-hike, but I want to test myself first by just doing half. I plan on doing the southern half after I graduate from college next Spring and would love to have someone to hike with. I understand about meeting people on the trail, but it would be nice to have an anchor.

you wont meet many SOBOs heading out of Harpers Ferry in May. Most are leaving from Katadin late June-early July. Is there a reason to hike it SOBO? I would recommend that if you are only doing half, consider doing it NOBO starting in May. there will still be hikers on the trail in GA. They will be the ones flip-flopping from Harpers.

I live near Harper's Ferry, so it's simple to have someone drive me to where I want to start. Thanks for the advice, at this point, I have so much time that I'm taking every option into consideration.
