Just got back from a week long, @125 mile walk from the Colorado River at the bottom of Grand Canyon (elevation 2,500') to the summit of Mt. Humphreys, Arizona's highest point at 12,633'.
Along the way I used some trails within Grand Canyon, about 70 miles of the Arizona Trail, and a couple days of cross country hiking due to no trails going where I wanted to go, or because I was in snow. The route I put together ended up working fairly well. Overall, it was a really fun and diverse hike and I got to hike in and experience a lot of different things in the short time I had- Everything from bare feet and temps in the 80's, to crampons and chopping steps across snowfields.
Most of the miles were across the flat and arid Coconino Plateau which has very little water and a lot of cows, and unfortunately I also had Abba songs stuck in my head all week, since I hitched up to Grand Canyon from Flagstaff with a Romanian couple who were really big fans.
But aside from this, it was a great hike and I thought I'd share my pictures from it. Most of the pictures have captions beneath them elaborating on the hike and other things.

If you're from the area and would like to do this hike, I'd be glad to share info on the route I chose, water sources, and assembling a workable gear list which is a bit difficult due to the extreme range of conditions you might see. Just send me a PM.
