View Full Version : Waist Pack Rain Cover
Anyone know of a manufacturer of waist pack rain covers? I've been looking at small backpack rain covers, but haven't ran across one small enough.
My fanny pack is 12"W x 8"T x 5"D (480 cubic inches)
I would be thrilled to run across a little pack cover between 5-700 cubic inches or so.
Oh and I prefer it to be black, or at least an earth tone. No smiley-face yellow, orange, pink, etc. Kinda takes all the fun out of stealth camping when you're walking around with a dayglow yellow bag hanging over your crotch. Know what I mean?

Could you use a shower cap? Guess you could find a suitable color.
small piece of sil nylon and elastic cord

We made ours out of sil nylon. Not that hard to sew a strip of elastic into it to fit it over the pack. Maybe someone handy with a machine can do it for you.
All responses are much appreciated. I think Jack may be onto something with his shower cap idea though!

This will probably do quite nicely and I don't have to try and figure out how to sew elastic into fabric. Just thinking about what that job would look like makes me realize it would not be as easy as one would think at face value.

Yeah the shower cap is a good idea. Make sure you get one with daisies on it . :) Just kidding!

Not exactly what you asked, but, a poncho would keep you and your waist pack dry.
