I love to get out and hike, but the g/f's not too fond of a strenuous hike. Anyone in MN in the Cities that wants to hit the trail? I'm building up endurance and testing gear for a (hopeful) 2010 thru.

SteveJ 03-27-2009, 11:37 guess so....just like there's indoor plumbing down here in Jawja.....(at least in most places!) Manwich 03-27-2009, 11:39 guess so....just like there's indoor plumbing down here in Jawja.....(at least in most places!) lies. ive seen pictures. SteveJ 03-27-2009, 12:56 lies. ive seen pictures. and if it's on the internets, it got to be the truth, right? Manwich 03-27-2009, 12:58 to be fair, your testimony to indoor plumbing is on the internets. SteveJ 03-27-2009, 14:35 to be fair, your testimony to indoor plumbing is on the internets. ....and you make my point! ;) alright, back to topic - anyone in Medic!'s neck of the woods that wants to go hiking? SonrisaJo 03-27-2009, 16:24 Hey Medic! The best advice I can give is to make it to the Superior Hiking Trail Annual Meeting in early May at Wolf Ridge ELC in Finland, MN. That's where all the hikers flock to. You'll meet great people, hike some great trails, and make contacts for the rest of the hiking season. You probably know all about the SHT, but if you have any questions, let me know, it's literally in my backyard. Best of luck! medestar 03-28-2009, 13:00 I am planning on going to Isle Royale in July. Not having a lot of luck finding anyone else to go with, if you are interested. It's a 90 mile round trip hike ( well 88.8 per the map), over 12 days. warraghiyagey 03-28-2009, 19:51 There's this dude from up your way, goes by the name of Smith. Excellent hiking partner from what I hear. . . Medic! 03-29-2009, 06:13 Thanks all, and SteveJ, are you suggesting that some things on teh interwebs are false!? And here I thought it was the international truth program . I do know about the SHT, but didn't know about the gathering, thanks. I plan on taking a week or two off in May to do a shakedown hike on the SHT, so it sounds like going to the gathering first is a good idea. And Medestar, it sounds great, but the way that we bid time off at work... long story short I wouldn't be able to take more than three consecutive days off in July this year. In fact that runs true for basically anytime between mid-June and September. ( The upside of course is that I work full time with a three-day work week). |
