As I am approaching my start date (April 3rd), I am looking to read a few more journals. I was hoping that specific ones might be suggested that I could relate to.
I am a single 29 year old female thru-hiking by myself. I'm average in most other ways and somewhat inexperienced.
Any suggestions on journals I might enjoy/learn from and relate to?
Thanks ahead of time,
Amy

A girl about your age, Karen M., has a great trail journal I'm sure you'll enjoy. She began her thru on March 1. Her link is www.trailjournals.com/KarenM (http://www.trailjournals.com/KarenM)

I should clarify - I am looking for completed thru-hike journals. I begin my thru hike in a few days (WOOT!) and I'm looking over journals in my final days of waiting! :)

Didn't she just publish a book too? I thoght she did, and it was on Amazon.
Look up "Lonesome Dove" or "Jan Liteshoe" at Trail Journals.
Persistent (http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=4802) wrote an excellent Trail Journal in '07 and I'd definitely second the mention of Certain (http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=4316). One of the best TJ's I've ever read. Also, Marta (http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=3277) has an excellent TJ from her SOBO hike.
My top three: Jan Liteshoe 03, Marta 05 (SOBO), and Certain 08. They don't sugarcoat the trail, but give a reality check. Fabulous!
