What are the dimensions of the groundsheet you use underneath a tarp?

This is what I use. LIGHT, tuff, cheap. 40" X 96".

It really does depend on the size of your tarp. You don't want it larger than the coverage of your tarp. Or you will be soaked from the bottom up if it rains.

I use the footprint from a Sierra Designs Velox 1 tent. Cant tell you the exact measurements, but its more than long enough for my sleeping pad :) Wont protect my gear from water running under the tarp though.

BTW it was $15.

I use a mylar space blanket when I'm not hanging from the hammock

6-8 inches bigger all the way around my sleeping pad this way when I flop around I don't come off it as much. I also carry a smaller piece to set my gear down on, I also keep it handy as a sheet to sit on it the ground is wet.

All my instructions say about 1inch from the outline of your tent or tarp.
