I just brewed by first cup-a-joe with one of these and WOW what a great way to start the day. I ground one tablespoon (after grinding) of whole beans to a course texture and put them in the steeper. After pouring a full cup of boiling water (about 14 ounces in my cup) I simply stirred for 3 minutes and voila, a great kick start to the day. MUCH BETTER than instant, and a much lighter solution than any other I have found to real coffee. The steeper only weighs 0.6 ounces, no big deal.
Some reviewers online complained about a crappy product, but they just let the thing float on top of the cup. You do need to stir it, but that gives ya something to do while waiting for the brew. :)
