The best parking I can find so far is by the shuttle for Harpers Ferry.

I had a lot of fun on that section with Doggiebag last year in April. Keep you eye out for Morel mushrooms they should be up at this time of year we saw a bunch last year after getting the tip off from SofaKing in the logs. They go well in Spaghetti.

I wish I could join you but having just gotten back from a Family event up in NH and having a bunch of work stuff popping finally I think I'll have to pass on this one. Should be a great time down there. The days it didn't rain were perfect weather just warm enough for shorts and T-Shirt but not really warm enough to get sweating.

I am looking at May right now. I have plans for the end of may like the 25th to go down into VA going north from James River Bridge area up to Rockfish Gap, at least thats the plan as it sits in my head right now. I also realized that both kids have a school trip at the start of the month and will be gone for most of the week so it will be a good time for me to slip away for a few days. I am thinking short day Sunday may 3rd, and early stop on Friday the 8th. This should allow for travel from Shippensburg Rd to Duncannon as the terrain after Boiling Springs gets pretty flat for a while.

I'd be totally up for that, but I already have a hike planned, and I'm leaving Wednesday.

I'm going to do Atkins -> Damascus (or maybe farther and on it to TN, depending).

I cannot make a mid-week trip. But, to keep my sanity, but I will be getting out this weekend on the AT/LT in VT. I know: be prepared for lots of mud and slush. Yesterday afternoon I was day hiking on the Finger Lakes Trail and there are still a few patches of snow at about 2,000 ft. When is spring coming up north??

I'd like to, but I think pool playoffs are that Wed. night...I'm going to check it out, and then see if they really need me that night...I'll get back to you. I'd really like to go. :)

Hey Chenango drove up that way on my way to Hanover this past week. It was dark a bit after Manchester Center but the peaks around there still had some snow on the tops of them. Not sure if this last rain we had was snow up there or not. Get ready to have some wet muddy fun.

Sasquatch - I talked to somone who went up Stratton Mtn on Tuesday. It was very wet for the first 3/4 of the way (~3,000 ft). Then she hit snow and did a fair amount of post-hole'ing. I plan on staying on lower peaks. In fact, the GMC recommends staying off the higher peaks, especially the fragile alpine zones, until Memorial Day. Weather report looks awesome this weekend.

I know its mid-week and a lot of you have work issues BUT hear me out - this is perfect timing, who at your work will ever question 2 sick days on a Wed. and Thurs.???? NO ONE - thats who :) !!! So get your sick face going Tuesday morning and get your butts out on this hike!!!

I wish I could go things are really getting going back here. Well at least for right now, In a few days I may end up not having anything to do but for now it looks like I will be really busy. The weather is finally getting good. You all are going to have an awesome time.

Wrongway, I was reading a trail register at Little Rock Pond Shelter. You wrote back in August 2008 about pulling a large snapping turtle out of the mud by its tail. I see you taste for reptiles goes beyond snakes. lol

Hey on your way up you need to stop by and we will commerate your summer job with a sweat. I am putting the finnishing touches on the lodge. I got a braid of sweet grass and have the sage even though I am really waiting for my friend to send me some from the ranch in WY. Means more to me that way. It's a great spot right near a small waterfall anout 15 min walk from the house.

When are you guys going out for your next trip? Looks like you always have a lot of fun and I'm in the area. Its VERY easy for me to go out midweek as I bartend and prefer to avoid weekenders these days....
