Trail Handsets

I know that some hikers bash the use of trail handsets on their outings, but I found a cool one at the iTunes AppStore. Seems like a lot of functionality for just $1.99, but do any of you other hikers have any opinions?

if youre gonna carry an iphone it wont hurt to have it. you probably wont use it or need it, but maybe it will give you peace of mind! :)
