I hiked a section across the Roan Highlands a few years back. It was clear and absolutely beautiful, albeit cold. I snapped many pics w/ my disposable, & then once home,,,, Walgreens messed up my disposable during processing & lost all my pics :datz I was soooo MAD. That pushed me to finally get a digital!

I must say It was a a great hike. As a sobo finishing this year and in the center of the photo, this trail is one of the best spots on the At. 340 to go after a little work for stay and the nobo push is about over.

I did not know there was a treeline in NC, nor did I realize that the AT in that section barely dips below it.
