Has anyone tested these new-in-2004 boots out with long distance back-packing? Asolo is producing a lot of them and they seem to be well-produced. How would they stack up against a comparable leather boot?

I have not hiked at all in the new Asolo "Fugitive" GTX, but I did use the Asolo 535's on my 02' thru hike. They broke in quickly and lasted over 2000 miles before finally giving out in Maine. I was very pleased with the Asolo brand...they really know how to make a good boot!
