You'll find people when you get out there...all of the people I saw that tried to hike together ended up splitting up eventually anyway...including a father/son hiking pair as well as 3 friends who started out together. The only way I've seen 'hiking partners' work for a thruhike is husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend. Don't worry, you won't be alone out there...people will come and go.
