Look, get a guidebook like Appalachian pages. Thumb through it, pick a 3-4 day section about 10 miles a day. Get you pack issues in order, pack a food bag for 4 days, get a ride to a trailhead and walk. Enjoy and dont sweat anything. Take it all in. The main thing is separating yourself from society and the stresses of your life. Hiking aint nothin but walkin

the Long Trail Festival he mentioned isn't until sometime in mid-August. It's in Rutland VT, which you can get to from the road before Killington and the road after Killington (which is where the Long Trail Inn is). it's a good time though!

When you first came on WB, you posted an amazing amount and you didn't take a breath in between them. Now you can see that it's better to be a bit more thoughtful. Now you sit back and enjoy someone else doing what you used to do. Not that you you still don't post some weird **** but it's easier to take if there just isn't so much of it. This has been a quality service bulletin from a know it all.:)

Best one was when he wanted to make a Hummer for himself. So he said you needed a 12' wide car. You can make that...out of 2 6' wide cars duct taped together. Also it's family friendly...leave one in neutral and drive the other...two radios, two heat and AC and you can close the windows if you don't want to talk:D

We just hiked the section south of Johnson, VT. It rained, lots of lightening and blew like hell. There is a stream about 3 or 4 miles from Johnson that is normally very small but it was raging on Saturday. Six people told me that it couldn't be crossed. They didn't look at the tree across it down stream. The gay guys that run the bakery not too far into Johnson make the best sandwiches and pastries. I highly recommend it...um not the gay thing but the sandwiches and pastries.
