Just moved to the Triangle area after living so long in the Tennessee mountains. Just wondering what other WBers are in the area. I know I talked to some of you already.
Looking to partner up for some day hikes or weekenders at the state parks, MST, and Uwharrie/Croatan trails. Even hit up some TN/NC AT sections.
Hey, TN Viking, guess you'll be the Carolina Viking now. I'm in Charlotte, give me a shout some time. I'm a slower hiker, but enjoy every minute of it. :D
Tennessee
I've hiked about 200 miles on the MST including the following areas, generally moving from east to west.
Outer Banks section of the MST from Jockey's Ridge (eastern terminus of the MST) to a point about halfway between Avon and Salvo
Hanging Rock State Park
Greensboro watershed trails from Erickson Road (just east of Greensboro) including all of the MST out to Stokesdale
Stone Mountain State Park
Blue Ridge Parkway from Stone Mountain State Park to MP 280 near Route 421
Croatan National Forest
Most recent off the MST - multiple times each
Hagan-Stone Park
County Park
Guilford National Battlefield Park
2008 Appalachian Trail - rehiked Shenandoah National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway
Currently starting to explore the Allegheny Trail (VA/WV) - west of the AT
First big trek on the AT
Section hiked the Appalachian Trail from 2003 - 2007 (GA-NJ)
I'm always looking for a hiking buddy, email if interested. I'm in very good health, hike 8-12 miles a day. Ready for dayhike weekends, whatever. Also feel free to call my cell - my cell # is 757-817- 1472 I live in Greensboro.

Welcome to the Triangle! Also check out some of the scout troops in the area. Some of them go backpacking every month.
