Looking to acclimate a newb to AT hiking this Thurs & Fri to the NOC from either Wayah Gap or Wayah Bald...would like to avoid climbing Wine Spring Bald so was looking to park at Wayah Bald where it intersects w/ FS69 (I assume that it's near the summit)...advisable? Don't know about any vandalism, etc...car would only be there overnight...

Ronnie Haven, if you're out there I'm assuming you would know best about this...

TIA

Ron, I've got a question about FS69 along with FS71 and FS69. Do they close those roads in the winter and if they do, when are they closed?

The reason I ask is that I want to do some winter backpacking in the area and I need to know if I can use these roads or not. Thanks in advance!
