View Full Version : Kennebunk River Ferryman looking to sell property on the AT
Steve longeley who served hikers for 20 years as the ferryman escorting hikers across the kennebunk River via canoe twice a day is trying to sell his 22 acres of land right on the trail near where he ferried. He had a store the Trail Post and hostel there. It's right in beautiful caratunk. Please contact steve 207 663 4441. This could be a great opportunity for hikers and outdoor minded people.

If only I had the money...
Maybe a bunch of us could pool our funds and put together a really cool Hostel/ferry service. It would sure be a shame if the ferry went away. :-?

Steve's land has nothing to do with the ferry service, which is funded by the ATC and MATC. He worked under contract as does the current ferry operator. His property as far as I know is not down at the river's edge but across 201.
