I recently purchased the 10 fl oz 1.1 oz snow peak titanium single cup I.

http://www.backcountrygear.com/catalog/stovedetail.cfm/SN3000

Since it is only 2.75" wide I needed to create a smaller alcohol stove since my cat stove is 2.5" wide. I went out and bought redbull and dole pineapple juice cans. I cut the bottom 2" off of a few of the redbulls and pineapple cans and ran some tests until I got a model that worked well.

Its the second one from the left.

I got the Dole Stove to boil a cup of water in under 3 mins on a 1/4 oz of fuel. You can too.

I got a stencil from:

Just tape this to your can and hole punch away.

I believe that I got such a great burn time because the flames didn't "creep" up the sides of the pot and instead stayed concentrated on the bottom. I also believe that if the flames "creep" up the sides of your pot that by using this type of stove will reduce your burn times and your fuel neccessities.

Hope this is helpful.

ok the picture of the stoves are in my gallery. The Dole Stove is the second one from the left. You can see some of the other prototypes and you can also see a regular cat stove on the far left.

Nice work. I've made a few stoves from the dole cans with little success and have thus stuck with my homemade version of zelphs starlyte. I use a pot stand with it though, and could maybe save weight with the mini cat.

I prefer pressurized stoves to ones with pot stands...Less weight and quicker boil times.

I tend to agree except during cold weather pressurized stoves can be a PITA. They tend to need warming operating temperatures. In the summer I used a YACC stove but in the winter I use a kitten stove.
