If you thought the 36 hour, 135 mile Badwater was the ultimate, or if you thought the 5-day, 150 mile Marathon des Sables was only for the insane, how about running 4,300 miles in 111 days through the Sahara.

I feel ashamed to call myself an "ultrarunner" sometimes. I don't think I would enjoy running in the desert though...I need the occasional view to keep me going.

I don't think i could do it.
It's only 39 miles a day but, I'll tell ya, the heat really takes it out of me here in Thailand where i am now training for a marathon. After 10 AM, it is usually up in the 90's and zaps the strength out of you.
Good luck to them. If i was younger, (and single) maybe. But the CDT would sure be a lot more fun.
It took me a while, but I am realizing what I could do and what I want to do are two different things. :)
(Not that I could, or want to, do that race!)
