I'm wondering if the AT in Maryland runs mainly through the woods... well, duh..
What I mean is there a lot of exposure to the sun on the AT in Maryland or do you hike mainly under the trees, shaded from direct sunlight?
I'm on doxycycline for lyme and the bottle has "AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT" or something like that on it. I'm planning to hike the MD section next week while I'm still taking the doxy - just wondering if I need to slather on the sunscreen. (I'm definitely planning on slathering on the DEET)
