HOT !!! Just hiked Springer to Neels Gap. It was a great hike, but the weather is hot and humid (go figure... ;)). One of the many things I learned was to never pass up the opportunity to get water. I was consuming about 4 liters per day and averaging about ~12 miles a day.
An awesome hike. enjoy. <<<jealous.

We did that section in May with all the rain. It is absolutely beautiful and one of the best hikes I have ever done. You will love it.
Ressurecting another old post here.....
My gf and I are doing this same section in September.
Ideas or thoughts on trail temps and conditions for this time of the year?
Thanks.
Just finished that section with my son 2 weeks ago. It was great. Temperatures were manageable, scenery was beautiful.

September is when the saeson changes, so weather fluctuates a great deal. Expect hot days with cool nights early in the month with significant cooling by the first of October.
Highs can get over 90, but rain and overcast can limit it to th 70's. Lows will typically be in the 50's although cold fronts acn knock it down into the low 80's.
Absolutely carry raingear; you will get very gcold if you get wet!
