This is outrageous!! For a hiking web-site, that has banned political discussions, to now be running eight different threads on a political figure, is about as hypocritical as anything I have ever seen!!
The ole double standard in the media has found it's way into WB!

There were a number of threads about the horse, "Appalachian Trail", running in various races earlier this year.

"Attractive women, but potentially sweaty." lol

No secret agenda. As stated above, anything with "Appalachian" or even "Trail" may show up automatically. If you check it out early in the morning, you'll find links to all sorts of odd news stories.

WB is a site about the AT for people interested in the AT. This goofy story happens to be the biggest story about the AT in years, It has brought world wide attention to the AT. Why shouldn't WB make easy acces to the news storys? The fact that the story involves a politician from a specific party that seems to be having multiple incidents of problems of this nature is not the fault of WB or the news media or the opposing party. The gov and the party leaders of his party who can't seem to stay out of scandles like this are the people moving this story and making it so darn funny.

Now that is funny!!! This story has Nothing to do with the Trail! The Trail part was a lie.
"a specific party that seems to be having multiple incidents of problems of this nature" ???? Where have you been living lately?
Clinton, Spitzer, Edwards doesn't ring a bell with you?
I expect this post to be deleted soon and thread closed

How is it funny? I have tried to have a "FEEL good" post but like the above said when it edwards or slick willy its o.k. Funny like how families being split? Funny like how it makes people across the world think that Americans cant keep it in there pants? You can be sure there are plenty more "government cheaters" out there and yes on both sides.

I think the ATC paid the mistriss to seduce him to gain more publicity for the trail!!!! Wouldn't that be a fun and juicy story.

When did they extend the AT to Argentina? Has the guidebook(s) been updated? How the heck did the Gov. hike from SC to Argentina so fast? Must be a new section hike record! ;):D:banana

I'm sorry, I did not mean to be offensive. Eh, where have I been lately, Clinton was like 15 years ago. Spitzer and Edwards are rescent, but come on, you gotta be able to name more than just those two. And if you don't see the humor in having hippocritters exsposed, I'm sorry for that too.

Mayor of Detroit... Kirkpatrick D
Mcgreevy ...governor of somewhere....D
I could go back further in the past, to John Kennedy, or maybe Ted Kennedy. We still don't have the full story of the late night drowning incident. But that all "old news", right?

I am one of the moderators who has been trying to keep the automated new threads from this Forum from overwhelming the board. I am unable to monitor this forum during the work week, but try to help out when I can. These threads are generated automatically. I closed, but did not delete the threads at first when the AT was allegedly a relevant part of the story. From the start, an effort has been made to limit all the comments to one thread because of the political nature of the story. While there is a tight leash on political subjects here, those that are directly relevant to the AT can be allowed. Now that the truth is out about the role of the AT in this story, I have been deleting threads about this that are generated in the RSS Forum.

Having said that, I have not deleted a single comment or deleted any threads that were commented on. Every single Forum on this website is moderated by volunteers who try to help keep the comments within the parameters of the WhiteBlaze User Rules/Agreement (http://whiteblaze.net/index.php?page=agreement).This is not a perfect system, but there are many different people involved who assist the Administrators with moderating the contributions to this message board. They do it for free.

If anyone has any problem with the way this has been handled, please feel free to contact me or the Administrators. If you have any questions feel free to ask them here, Lord knows I'll be checking in to keep on top of these darn automated threads.

Thanks,
ed

Despite my moral code against such things,
I'd rather have a state governor screwing around with a beautiful woman (on the AT!) than the folks we have in office at the federal level screwing us *all* with more government (spending, regulations, bureaucracy, taxes in the form of cap-and-trade, etc.)

Grumpy,
That was a violation of TOS 2, 3 and 5 right after I tried to explain why this topic is over with in this forum. Please cut it out. Moving forward I will be removing posts here that can't comply with this simple request.

Thanks

Let me say that I appreciate both your work, and also appreciate that there is an (albeit imperfect) bot that collects these.

Actually that's how I got on WB. I had been interviewed in the Elmira Star-Gazette and the reporter Googled a boner with a poor comparison to the A.T. and that went in the story. The following morning I got a note from someone in Tennessee about how I was off message. After explaining that it was the reporter not me, I wondered how someone in TN would be up on news stories in upstate NY. "You see, there's a web site that captures any news articles that mention the A.T."... and now I guess I'm hooked!

This is hysterical and I agree. Someone somewhere is forcing public officials to have embarrasing sex everywhere, bathroom stalls, Argentina, hookers in DC since there are none in NYC. Is this a great contry or what?
