What do you guys and gals think. Will a katadyn water filter lessen or eliminate flouride in tap water.

i have the pro hike filter and i tested it out on tap city water could still taste the chlorine in it.
My, uneducated guess, is that it doesn't. Nor will any hiking filter. Household Charcoal filters remove some dissolved substances. But backpacking filters are designed to remove tiny organisms, some of which can cause disease. Chemicals dissolved in the water will pass right on through, I think.

No, you would need a filter with activated charcoal in it to remove chemicals like flouride, something like a PUR filter pitcher.
