Starting August 2, 2009 I will be walking north from Unicoi Gap. Any trail condition updates will be much appreciated.

I used to be a GATC maintainer. Trey Mtn has a tendancy to be dry in mid-late summer. You can get reliable water off blueblaze at the old cheese factory location. There is also reliable water about 2 miles N of Trey Mtn. all other water sources N of there to Franklin NC are pretty reliable.

Hello my fellow "rain man"!!! Always good to "see" you. :D

My youngest daughter just did Amicalola to Neel Gap this week and she said water was fine.

I highly recommend the Georgia AT Club for info on trail conditions. They are a great trail club. And, nothing like getting it straight from the horse's mouth.

The GA Ridgerunner reports this week that all water sources at shelters in GA (with the exception of Blue Mountain) are flowing strong. The stream on Rocky Mountain leaving Uncoi Gap is simply seeping.

Thanks Mother Nature. I know you wouldn't try to fool a Rainman.
