If you mean to be there by trail, you're better off getting ahead of the crowd trailwise then hitching or finding a ride.

Trail Days = May 14-16 Frid/Sat/Sun
Gene Espy is set to be the Grand Marshall again (2nd ever thru-hiker)
I guess tent city will be on the same location on the outskirt of Damascus as last year?
(Does anybody know about tent city?...Damascus had a few problems last year)
Please tell me more about trail days, I assume a lot of hanging out . What else? Thanks!

Lots of people (fellowship), lots of gear vendors (many with TD discounted prices), seminars, entertainment (fun TD parade and many other types of entertainment), lots of partying (if you like that) and much, much more. IMO there is something for everyone, the nicest people on earth congregate in Damascus for TD. If you are a hiker, I am sure that you will enjoy it.

According to their website http://www.traildays.us the Trail Days for 2010 is May 14, 15 & 16.
