Nashville dinner - Aug 7, 2009

Adventurousmtnlvr (Cathy) is going to be in town and asked if we could do dinner, so I'm inviting one and all. This is impromptu, not one of the "official" dinners, but please come. Let's yak about the AT. Or kayaking. Or whatever. Good food, good conversation, good AT friends.

Friday, August 7, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Ruby Tuesday next to REI in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Questions? Suggestions? RSVPs? (helpful to know how many tables to ask for)

Oh this sounds fun. I'd like to actually meet some of the WBer's. Too bad I don't live in TN anymore.

Saving up for next summer's section hike?! Stitch and I will miss you at dinner, but it's a low-key, impromptu affair.

Actually, my latest interest is vintage travel trailers. Mick and I just bought a 1966 travel trailer and plan on taking it out. My hiking days may be numbered......

Oh no... not a flash-in-the-pan hiker!!!! :D

I did get another AT hiker for the Friday dinner, today. "Bypass." A Boy Scout leader who takes his troup on the AT yearly, and has had a bypass operation.

If it was on Sat. night, I'd drive down from Southern IN., we're only four hours away. As it is, my new part-time job has me working M-F.

Usually I do try for Saturday evenings for just that reason. But this one is set up at Cathy's request, as she's in town Friday. So, Friday it is.

Next time, maybe?!

Thanks for posting Rain Man and to everyone that is able to come that evening. I appreciate that Nashville is so accomodating. I'm only in town that one day but would love to come another time as well (like on a Sat as several suggested, so I may meet others too). And looking forward to REI as we don't have one in the Chattanooga area :)

My wife and youngest hiking daughter were in Cleveland about 3 weeks ago. Should've asked you to arranged a WB dinner for them! :) But they were BUSY visiting family.

Anyway, let us know when you are going to be in Nashville and we will all have a "Starlyte" dinner, just for you!
:)

Yes, some of us (mostly ME) spent too much at REI but it sure was FUN! Thanks again Rain Man for arranging this and to all who attended, it was a blast! Can't wait to come back or re-meet on the trail! :)

If someone will tell me how to make that thumbnail link to the full size version, I'll be happy to do so. For the life of me, I can't remember how, ... if I ever knew.

The full size version is in my gallery.

always fun when WB'ers get together. The Nashville area group is a great bunch of people.

Maybe next time.

Rain Man, when are you planning a fall get together?

Spunky

No. There's been no call for one, but also February will be here pretty soon.

I would NOT oppose any "competition" if someone else wanted to arrange one, though.

BTW, I have Gene Espy lined up to speak to us in February.

Rain:sunMan

P.S. For what it's worth, Neo has his fall gathering at Meriwether Lewis campground on the Natchez Trace planned again.

That's true, February will be here before you know it!

Fall is a busy time. The weather is TOO nice to stay at home. You've got a great hike planned, Rain Man.
