I'd like to put something together for August (and/or) September, be it a hike, weekend camping trip or perhaps a dinner in a nice restaurant where we can just sit and talk.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
A lot of you that hike and leave your other half at home, perhaps we could do something to include them if you'd like.
Let me know ASAP.

Figuring everyone was out enjoying the weekend I thought I'd better bring this thread to the surface again.

What? Too hot for everyone? ZERO responses? I'm not sure I'll have the time, but I could probably get at least a full day hike in. I need to do this actually. Wouldn't mind hiking the Tecumseh from Yellowwood to IN45, or to Prange Pond and back?
Takers?
The wife and I have been wanting to hike the NewChapel to Leota section.. It is only 9 miles but if we started on a Sat morning and camped near the end with a quick hike out in the morning we would be in..
Let us know GG and we will see when we are available..
We are selling our house so Sept would probably be a little better..
Thanks..

I did an "Out-N-Back" a month or two ago on this section and finished the whole trail the end of last month.
Bigmac_in and I were talking about doing the whole trail sometime this Fall but after the job interview I had today, I'll be moving to TN.
I don't know exactly when I'll be making the move but I don't see it happening in the next two weeks.
When I wrote this thread and even now I'm detailing cars here in town.
We'll see what we can get together.
Thanks for responding.
Hi fellow hoosiers, I am new to WB site and am planning a 2010 thru hike of the AT. Would like to get my feet wet w/ the Knobstone trail. I hear it is a great place to warm up for the AT. Anyhow, prefer not to hike alone. I am thinking about an extended weekend hike the second or 3rd weekend in October. I am from South Bend and not having much luck finding a hiking partner(s). thank-you much! :)

triguy - I'll be out of state the second weekend of October, but might be available the third weekend. PM me if it looks like you'll be down then and I'll try to at least hike a portion of the trail with you.

You got to watch hiking with bigmac-in triguy, he has a habit of littering the trail with plastic spoons:D:D:D:D.

Good golly, you drop a spoon ONE time. . . .
The worst part is, the hill the spoon fell down was covered in ice. He could have easily slid down and retrieved it.

Ya, first it's a spoon, then what...?
I miss hiking with you guys.:(
Going to check into the Cumberland Trail. It should be interesting.
:p That's what I was getting at, you'd of had to crawl up an ice covered hill. Hard to show sarcasm on the internet.
So you're already in Tennessee GG? Congrats on the job!!!

So you did leave one? Naughty!
I'm really happy for you Gorp Gobbler. You deserve a run of good luck!
Since you're in TN, we could all meet in the Red River Gorge, or something along those lines if you want. I HIGHLY recommend you do a day hike of Auxier Ridge / Court House Rock later this month when the leaves change.

Great pics dradius. This sounds good and looks like a neat place.
I'm waiting for the trees on the mountain across from my apartment to start changing.
I went out for a day hike yesterday up Frozen Head in Frozen Head State Park. Great day and a good hike.
Let me know what your plans are ahead of time and I'll try and get the days off.

Still hiking, Gorpy, but mostly alone. Was out at Deam Wilderness Monday night - didn't go far because I was just getting over the flu. The fire tower alone almost did me in, but did hike out down Sycamore Ridge a short distance. Had a good rain last Thursday night and then some wind, so most of the good leaves are already on the ground. Wouldn't mind a good overnight before it gets too cold, if anyone is interested.
I definitely wouldn't mind hitting the Red River Gorge sometime if that ever gets organized.

I normally get two days off a week so if you all want to get something together let me know ahead of time so I can put in for it.
The leaves down here are turning and are still on the trees.
