David Nation (briarpatch) from Troop 207 and an active member of the GATC passed away today.

This is very said news. I have remained in constant contact with David. He has helped me a lot with gathering and confirming data and information for our book "Appalachian Pages". He has become a good friend. I will miss the great conversations we use to share.

My heart goes out to the family and friends. This is a great Loss.

I just spoke with Mrs. Nation and she confirmed his passing. I let her know that he was very well thought of on the AT.

I will be in contact with her on Monday to find out where to send condolences.
