So my fiance and I are starting our hike in right at 3 weeks from now! We cant wait!
I know that its still a little time away though to be getting trail info, but I figured Id go ahead and get started!
So, has anyone been on this part of the trail lately? Amicalola to Dicks Creek Gap.
It seems that I have read in a few places that the water is not the best it could be at some points.
Also, how about the weather? Highs, lows?
Any info would be happily and eagerly awaited!
Thanks!

Hey ya'll. I know you're getting excited. Any time you need trail conditions for this area, the Hiker Hostel can tell you - you can e-mail to ask them. They have a constant stream of hikers coming thru the hostel who have been on the trail and they keep up with trail conditions from the hikers.

I was up there between Unicoi and tray gaps, this past Saturday. The little water spot going up Rocky Mountain was slow but running. The next one about 1 mile (I think) before Tray gap was slow but running. Someone I met said that the water at Tray Mountain Shelter was the same. Addis Gap should be okay.

According to the Georgia ATC on 7/13 the water sources are all listed as good

So, how about the trail.....how is it.....
Are there lots of people starting at Amicalola at this time of year, and with it being Labor Day weekend at that?
How about bears or other rodents?
How about weather? What are the days and nights getting around?
