I am looking to make a first time trek this spring and wanted to get some suggestions on good routes. I'm looking to do a 3-4 day hike, starting somewhere in NC, TN or VA (I live in Charlotte, NC). Moderate difficulty is preferred, as well as somewhere with good options for camping/shelters along the way (since this is my first time). Any thoughts?

Could do something in the Grayson Highlands/Mt. Rogers (VA) area. There is always the Smokies too but they do have a lot of rules and regulations and so many shelters require reservations....
Standing Indian loop, Deep gap to Rock Gap, great hike. Ron Haven in Franklin can help with all the details.

Thanks for the suggestions! It sounds like a lot of people like the Massie Gap to Damascuss hike. Does anyone know the actual mileage for that or have a specific route already mapped out that they could send me?
