Glad folks enjoyed it. Here is the actual version (http://www.pennlive.com/business/patriotnews/index.ssf?/base/business/125151362017930.xml&coll=1) that appeared in this morning's print editions. It is slightly different (longer) than that first post. The photos I took don't make the Web, but I have two posted in my WB gallery, including this one which I really like of Pat and Vicky. http://whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/files/1/8/2/3/4/doyle-hotel-0807-d_thumb.jpg (http://whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=35970&c=member&imageuser=18234)http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=35970&catid=member&imageuser=18234

Great article! Thx...

A few weeks ago, Vickey told me, "in the 8 years we've been here, we've graduated from a s**thole to a dive bar" :D

and Jack, Vickey said "The only OFFICIAL rule in the Doyle is No Donut Hockey!"...and I hear you have something to do with this :-?

I love the Doyle. Great people and great food. Duncannon is in my mind the perfect trail town. A hiker can do laundry, resupply, eat, drink and sleep with out ever walking more than 50 yards from the trail. I try to stop in every time I go through that area.

Nice article, Hoop. Glad to see someone trail-knowledgeable working for the Patriot. Always wondered why the trail never got more columns.

They wouldn't let you identify Matthewski by name? ;)

If you know Jack's sleeping habits you know that there's no way he could possibly have been awake for Donut Hockey. Even I was asleep by then.

Thanks for the kind words ... don't anybody tell the anti-Doyleites this actually ran on the business page.

Guilty by association...both of you! :D
