Just got back from my 4 day BP trip from Front Royal to Harper's Ferry.
2 things that really made it better.
1.Nescafe single serve tubes - Dump three in a mug if hot water and enjoy. Even better - Nescafe sent samples and BOGO coupons to shave the costs.
2. Propel fitness water in little tubes. I get bored with plain ol' water unless I Am really thirsty and Crystal light is too sweet. The Propel tubes, however, really worked out well. 1 tube to 32 ozs.
Helped to give me a few vitamins/minerals as well.
Anyone else got anything in a tube that works well?

Honey sticks!...they come in flavors, are quick energy, can add it to tea, and also put on wounds...

I kinda like it, although changing the spelling of one particular word completely changes the meaning of the thread's title

Speaking of tubes....does anyone know where you can get Gatorade single packets like the Propel ones? Looked in Wally World and other supermarkets and can't seem to find them.

I like the caffeinated flavored mixes, which I've found are placed in the tea and coffee aisle in the supermarket.

I'll be darned, never heard of that before. Thanks for posting the link! I wonder what the difference is between regular store-bought and medical grade honey.

I never would have thought I could enjoy instant until I tried those sealed single tubes (I also got my first batch free).
I mix one regular and one decaf to get the right strength, with just the perfect amount of caffeine.

I'm not a fan of crystal light either, but I must say their lemonade is REALLY good.
Anyone remember those NASA meals that came in toothpaste tubes?

They do still make it. Last time we saw some was at a Nature/Outdoor Center. I also just googled it, and found a lot of sellers.

I like the full strength Kool-aid and country time lemonade packs. Need the sugar rush calories mid-day. My favorite is grap-a-lade, and cherry lemonade. 2 packs make a liter nalgene.

You can never have too much garlic!! Are those tubes in the canned goods isle? I have yet to find any.

Not down here. In our local Publix's, they're with the canned, bottled and packaged sauces in the pasta isle, top shelf near the end of the display. Let me know if you find them. I'll see if I can get brand names next time I'm there.

Last time I saw them was at Big Lots, that usually means the manf has discontinued them. Prior to that I did find them at Meijer,,, bought the entire box then & at BL. Haven't seen them anywhere in over a year.

The tubes are great.
Coffee tubes are less mess than the single "tea" packets that I have had to use for years.
Propel tubes are good because the crystal light tubes are so damn sweet they make my head hurt. I aslo only use one tube per 32 oz water and that is a good amount of flavoring for me.
The last tube that makes it on trips with me is a tube of wasabi. adds a little zing to your lipton!

thinkgeek.com is the best place to get it, they even have mint chocolate chip!

I suggested to my friends and family that bacon in a tube would be a good product. They, of course, called me mad. And yet there is such a foodstuff available: http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/squeez-bacon.html

I got mine at the Super Market, however they are not what I call single packets. They 1.1 oz where the tube propels weigh 2 grams. I am not a weenie!!!

That's what I always say- not sure people sleeping next to me in the shelters agree!

I haunt the pages of thinkgeek.com often, and had never seen that product, so I clicked it. UNFAIR! They can't introduce bacon paste and take it away! Grrr... Well, real bacon is better anyway.
Ditto Toolshed. The propel in tubes is great. We carried it on the AT section and in the Grand Canyon and it is a good electrolyte boost too.
I can't wait to try coffe in a tube.
Apparently, from another thread I read today, pesto in a tube is excellent also. Just add noodles and a little olive oil.
They have quit selling peanut butter in a tube here which is too bad. So I got a tube for peanut butter. Stick in in the bottom and roll it up.

Just a few weeks ago a friend introduced me to single serving coffee tubes that contain cream and sugar. I don't recall the brand--I could post it later--but they can be found in Asian markets.

Got some Starbuck coffee in tubes for Christmas. These are very good. Better than Nescafe. I am not sure of the price because these were a gift.

I just bought a 10pk the other day. I think they are an average of about $0.90 to $1 per tube. If you have a Starbucks membership card you get 10% of all purchases so it helps a little bit.

Yes, A link would be great. I don't like black coffee but bringing the sugar and creamer is to much of a hassle. A tube with all 3 would be awesome!

Harissa Sauce: a North African (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_African) hot chili sauce commonly eaten in Morocco whose main ingredients are Piri piri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piri_piri) chili peppers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chili_pepper), tomatoes and Paprika. Good stuff in a tube. Google it.
