I did not see it up to D. Not all have pics.

I did see some pictures of laurel with red berries like that, but not the husk.

Them's a poppin' out! On my last backpacking trip I stumbled on the same dang things and took the below fotogs:

I read some of the info on Strawberry Bush/Hearts-a-Bustin berries, they will make you sit on the privy very quickly and for a long time.

The dreaded dingleberry has more of a nutty flavor, while the strawberry bush has a sweet/sour tang.
