hi y'all -
i'm looking for a few things:
1. a simple bivy sack (nothin fancy, gonna be desert hiking and am not anticipating using it too often).
2. a sturdy, relatively lightweight internal frame pack, 1500 to 3000 cubic inches. i'm a short little thing, around five feet, and a light packer, so not something too huge. would like one with a water res.; if not -
3. a small camelbac!
i'm a little broke, and savin up for a hiking trip out west, so i'm looking for stuff on the inexpensive side - lemme know if you can help me out!
thanks so much -
caroline
Try Craigslist and Ebay, both excellent dirtbag gear sources. :D

There are a couple of good websites that have gear really cheap. Try steepandcheap.com and also tramdock.com
Just yesterday they had a deuter 1500 cuin backpack for 54.99, and a camelback for 29.99 (reg 99.99) and hiking shoes for 1.00 (reg 119.00)....So if your on the computer a good amount of time and can keep an eye out its def. worth it! Good luck!
Sportsman Guide has always been a go to for inexpensive, but relatively sturdy gear. Great customer service also.

This is a relatively inexpensive set-up for $120. If you can't afford that much you'll most likely have to go used. But, I doubt you could find any bivy much cheaper. Good luck with your quest.

First,:welcome
to Whiteblaze.
Second, do you need a waterproof bivy? This may be nice to know if someone has one for sale. I don't have anything appropriate for you, just the above suggestion. Take care, hope you get what you need.

I have a Camelback Hydroback with a 50 oz Omega reservoir in excellent condition you can have for $15 shipped if you are still looking.
