Just found these plans on SMD's webiste.

I was wondering if anyone has made one yet and how well did the plans work out? This would be my first tarp building experience and want to make sure I start out with a decent one! Thanks

i'm not big on this tarp, but i just spent a while browsing the website. these guys have always impressed me. i havent been on the website in probably 6 months or so...they always have new, innovative gear. maybe one of these i'll buy something....ive been using the same gear for, well some it going on a decade. everything i own has rips and tears in it, my tent leaks, etc. but i just cant seem to get rid of it. i guess its the nostalgia factor for me. its done me so well. but if i ever do by new, i think i may go with ron.

I have the Lunar duo they make that might wife actually picked out. I got to spend some time talking to them at trail days and they are great people. I looked up the pricing to build this tarp and it would be a bit over $100 in materials. I think I am reconsidering buying the Wild Oasis for $175 over building my own. It will cost a bit more, but be done proffesionally and will give me someone to refer to in case anything goes wrong. It is only 14 oz and looks nice.

I did one with silnylon from Walmart. Hardest part was scaling up the plans to cut the material. It's a nice size for one person.
