Lest there be wonder about the topicality of this thread, I remain pretty irked at a man who made "I'm hiking the AT" a travesty and a metaphor for an adulterer's lying. Even Bill Bryson didn't make the AT seem like a sick little joke for a liar. He damaged a lot of things that are more significant in this world - including his marriage - but the AT was one of them, and he doesn't seem to care about it any more than the rest.
